I’m excited, but I am so sad. Sad because I am not able to attend the event I visualized would be attending since I got accepted into the program. I wanted to walk the stage and give a thumbs up to my kids as a boost for their journey ahead, a wave to my mom in the crowd, a thought for my late dad. I really wanted a typical ceremony.
But, fate had other plans. To graduate in a year where we’re still not out of the pandemic and unable to travel. And even if I did attend, the ceremony will be a social distanced, no crowds, strange event. Oh well.
Still, celebratory times call for celebration. And celebrate I will.
