In Twitter, Jose Uzcategui was @jose_u until today. From now on you can find me on Twitter at @joseuonline.
I know, switching names is a last resort. This will definitely will make a dent in my Twitter history. But this change was coming sooner or later for me. Plus, in internet time no one will remember the change in a few months.
But I have my reasons, here are the main ones:
- My blog’s address is www.joseuonline.com
- In some places I’m “jose_u” and in some “joseu”; it’s a bit confusing. I’m gradually switching most usernames to joseuonline.
- I now don’t have an “_” in my name.
- I have a company called, JoseUonline Communications.
- Someone else registering the Twitter name “joseuonline” would’ve been more damaging than the troubles I’m causing by this change.
- Joseuonline? Common, it’s catchy
- It’s also easy to remember
- When I manage Google Analytics or Adwords accounts, clients see “[email protected]” as the associated email… the consistency helps.
So there. I did it. I changed my Twitter name! Without warning anyone either.
Having said that, changing user names does not mean it’s a new account. So I’m your friend / follower if I was before.
I hope this works for the best.
