Today I say good bye to Joseuonline.com, welcome Joseuzcategui.com.
It fits. Seems everything about my life is changing. After many years since arriving to Canada, within the last 6 months I became Canadian, changed jobs, got engaged, moved to Japan… and now this.
A new life offline calls for a new life online.
Joseuzcategui.com will be the new platform to communicate new ideas, trends, and anectodes about my professional and personal life.
So, Why Did I Change?
Because I’ve changed. The reasons why I communicate have changed. And also, as difficult as it is to spell Joseuzcategui, I found Joseuonline tremendously difficult to spell over the phone.
The Struggle to the Online Presence
This change comes with baggage. For those who know me, an online presence is a topic I’m always conflicted about. Ever since deciding to have one, I constantly go into a self-debating philosophical argument about sharing what, when and how much.
Every time I see someone sharing their personal online I have two conflicting feelings:
- Oh thats great! I love reading about your life and it’s awesome that you’re comfortable sharing.
- Hm. I’m not sure if I would share that. Someone with bad intentions could use this against you..
I genuinely feel closer to those that share reasonable things over those who don’t really share. I’m sure you also have those connections that you could call, right now, and start a conversation. And those that would have the awkward moment of, “I have no idea what you’ve been doing for the last 5 years, soooo…”.
Five years ago I have a conversation with my good friend about this topic. He was conflicted with his approach to an online presence. The conversation resulted in this post.
